Default When can my Yorkie play after her spay?

Hi everyone!

I have two new Yorkie pups, Puma who is 11 months old and Nova, 3 months old.

Puma recently got spayed last Sunday. Ever since, she’s been wearing her onesie and I actually only gave her the pain meds from the doc the day after surgery. She didn’t seem to like them much and hasn’t been in pain.

Since yesterday she has been wanting to play with her baby sis Nova. I’ve tried keeping Puma in the crate, but she cries. I think mostly because she’s wondering why she has to be in the crate, while Nova gets to play.

Her appetite has been fine. She seems healthy. And she’s been popping normally. I’ve been checking her incision and everything looks normal and healed. She also has the sutures on the inside that dissolve, so we don’t have to make a trip back to the vet.

I’ve been trying to keep her and Nova from playing but it’s been hard. Especially because I feel bad. I yell “No” when the wrestle a bit and they both look at me sad and confused wondering what they’ve done wrong.

Is it so bad if Puma plays? I was told to not let her play for two weeks, but I was also told to keep her e-collar on for two weeks as well, which truthfully, I did not listen to. I instead purchased her a onesie and I was glad I did. Her incision is covered, she has not attempted to bother it and she’s comfortable.

When did you start letting your girls play after a spay? Thank you.
