We are retired now, but my husband worked from home for the last several years of his career. Our guys would stay behind the gate in their area of the house and wait for him to cross over for meals and a little playtime. Within a few minutes of noon, they would start to whine, then accelerate to a series of barks if he was "late" for lunch, and at 6:00 p.m. they would repeat the behavior at dinnertime.
Although my husband has not played golf during the covid-19 stay-at-home, they also seem to sense the days of the week of his regular 3-day per week golf tee-times. They get up before dawn to eat breakfast with him, then return to bed to sleep i with me until I am ready to start the day. On non-golfing days they will stay snuggled in with us as late as we want to sleep in, and are happy to wait as much as two hours later for their breakfast!
