Hi, Mike's nails also have a very long quick and no matter how many tutorials I watched when he was a puppy i couldn't do it right. Then his vet quicked his nails several times and there was so much blood and it was so traumatic for Mike that for a while he wouldn't let us touch his paws at all...
What worked for us - I make a nail file with sandpaper and file his nails. Took me a while to desensitise him but now it takes 10 minutes and it's stress free for both of us. Also his nails are not sharp like after clipping. I made a video on youtube, maybe it will be helpful for you <3
