Tips for Cutting Toe Nails Hi, since I can't take Bella to the groomer now, her toe nails are long and I noticed that a couple of nails are starting to curl in. Bella won't let me cut her black nails. I keep touching her feet as much as possible and also show her and let her smell the nail clippers, but she pulls away from me. I've been watching the Yutube videos but it's not as easy to do. Those dogs in the videos are so calm.I accidentally cut a blood vessel a couple of weeks ago. Bella pulled her foot from me so I cut more than the trim I wanted to do. It really frightened me to see her blood. Lucky I purchased the nail stop styptic powder at the same time. I understand from the groomer she said that her toe nails are long so the blood vessels are close to the nail and that I shouldn't cut her nails since I'm not experienced. Well now I have to learn on my own. Can anybody please share any tips or suggestions on how they manage to cut their dog's toenails? Also yes I will treat her with treats as much as she wants if she lets me cut her nails. Even if it's just one toenail a week, lol. Thank you. |
