Cry High Fever

Hi everyone,

So our little man had a temperature of 106 and it took medicine, ice packs next to him under a blanket to finally bring it down to 102. The vet is not very optimistic because we're close to final 3rd day of his treatment and he's not responding. He has pooped and eats sporadically but he's not returning to himself. They usually see the dogs starting to behave normal again which in his case would be to try to bite them or wag his tail.

They're going to take some x-rays but if nothing changes by tomorrow morning, we might unfortunately have to discuss euthanasia. I am beside myself. I don't even know how it's possible to go from the ball of energy to this. For the past 4.5 years since we moved here, it's just been him and I since I stopped working. I see him everywhere. It hasn't been normal around here since he's been at the vet and I don't hear his jingles from his collar. We knew this day would be coming but it just seems too soon. He's not old enough. It's never long enough.
