Thank God that Eagle didn't suddenly swoop down while you were standing apart from Katy and suddenly stab or grab her up. Don't know what she weighs but some of the largest, mature Eagles could potentially have tried to paralyze or kill her with a well-placed beak stab, claw points thrust into the base of the skull, neck, back or abdomen and/or flown off with her clutched in those raptor-like strong feet. I've read horrible stories and seen part of some awful video of those gorgeously beautiful, powerful winged carnivores catching small four-legged animals to taking down adult wolves, striking a bear, kangaroo, deer, etc., often with help from a second Eagle. Too awful to watch most of it. Just as bad, it could have dropped her from 30+ up, swoop down, reclaim and carry her off!
Now that it knows she's there, it could return and this time do its worst unless you are right there over her and have a way to fight it off. Even then, it could attack you out of its desperation for food to move you away from her or down to the ground. If it hits your head, knocks you down or you lose your balance trying to fight it off, she's prey. Be very careful from now and plan how to scare off, defeat one of these attacking birds in the future.
