I just got my little yorkie yesterday. We have her in the kichen with a babygate. All was going fine with cat, he would go up to the gate and check out what was going on. When i had the puppy in my lap he would come up to me and just smell her. So here I thought I was not going to have any problems. So last night I decided I'd let the puppy go on the floor near the cat. Well what a huge mistake that was at first the cat was hissing at her then when she kept going up to him he started grawling and swatted at her. I cut his nails yesterday morning so luckly they weren't sharp and the puppy didn't get hurt, just very scared. Does anyone have any advise on how to at least get my cat to tolerate the puppy without hurting her. Now I am so nervous about them being near each other. |
