I think that a lot of puppy mills use larger Yorkies for making puppies, two reasons really, one is they really do not care, the other is the theory that the larger dogs have MORE puppies per litter. Another, or third reason is, the larger dogs do better in outdoor pens. |
There was one of the DNA tests that checks a lot of health things like over 100 things but I was told only 5 or 6 of those are checkable in yorkies. Both girls are not reputable registered and Joey had no papers so just kind of a I wonder thing. But they are way to pricey and I’m not sure I’m convinced they are 100% right. Yes that is true about using a bigger yorkie. Although no yorkie no matter the size is really meant to be in an outside pen for life or even a full 24 hour day because of them having no undercoat and stuff. Sadly some of these puppy mills will even do their own csections on dogs. It’s terrible. We have several Amish near us that have puppy mills. Everyone likes to think the Amish are so great but they are huge puppy mill owners and not nice to most of their animals.
