You're welcome! There can be lots of reasons for dry skin but i don't think it's related to hair changing. If adjusting the routine won't work (like adding both wash and leave in conditioner), I think it's best to address the vet.
The issue also can be in the food, if the food is lacking omega 3 you might want to give supplements, but that must be discussed with the vet. Mike eats fish based kibble as well as I give him a tsp of coconut oil or homemade olive oil with food sometimes.
