I echo the other comments. We almost didn't take Fabian home from the breeder because he was projected to weigh only 3-4 pounds and we didn't want too fragile a dog. We decided to love him no matter what size he ended up being. At three YO, he's now 10.5 pounds in the summer when we take him hiking all the time and 12 lbs. the winter because he doesn't get as much exercise in the cold NH winters. Really, the only way to know your dog's size for sure is to get them at 2-3 years old. But consider all the great puppy memories you'd miss if you did that. |
