I do not like free feeding at all especially with multiples, personally. You don't know how much one is eating on a daily basis, it is not as easy to tell when one is getting more than the other, if one is sick or feeling under the weather, etc. I also feed mixed with canned food or real food like chicken or cod so it is not something i can just leave out all day.

I feed Jackson and Lola 3x a day usually. The 3x started after Jackson had pancreatitis and IBD and was always hungry. We initially had to feed 4-5 small meals per day. But now we are down to 3 times. On the week days when I work, they get fed breakfast at 7:45am, dinner at 4:45pm ish and again around 8:30pm ish w/ a small meal of kibble.
In my case I am home all day every day for the most part and the food is in the main room so I see who is eating and who isn’t. I really feel that Ollie for sure would not be getting enough food if it wasn’t left out for him to pick at. Due to Callie losing weight and stuff I feel it is very important to have it out for them. It really stresses both girls out if there is no food. I have also been told my dogs would be food aggressive by free feeding and they aren’t in fact they are far from it. It just works in my case extremely well. I understand that it doesn’t for everyone. I just I guess feel a little judged about it by most people when I say I free feed.
