My dog runs free in my fenced in yard with me there watching him, he is never left unattended and he is not a wee little 5 pounder. I take all measures in keeping him safe, if anything happened to him due to my negligence I would never be able to forgive myself, my choice. We all have choices and we have to live with the choice we make. | I agree with Matese 100%! As I posted earlier, I, too, allow Piper out in her little fenced yard (we are surrounded by homes, large yards), but NEVER unsupervised! These little ones are a whole 'nother animal (I raised German Shepherds); they are more vulnerable and more susceptible to danger--from other dogs, foxes, coyotes, birds-of-prey, getting hold of something bad to eat...it just doesn't take much to really, really hurt these guys. Add to that, the (generally) brave, determined, curious, tenacious personality of Yorkies and you got yourself a handful!!
Matese is completely non-judgmental, she is simply offering you advice based on her years of experience so that you may enjoy your little one for many years to come. YOU CANNOT BE TOO CAREFUL. YOU CANNOT BE TOO CAREFUL, TOO VIGILANTE!! |
