When my kids were growing up there was an older girl (older than they were) in the neighborhood that had a Pappion <sp>, I still remember his name, Shottsy. She had just what you are describing, a larger basket secured to her handlebars. That dog would jump up into that basket and ride all over. When she stopped he would wait for her cues, "Ok Shottsy, you can get out.". He would get out and he was so well behaved everywhere he went. Then when she was ready to go she would say, "Ok Shottsy, get in." And he would jump up and in and sit right down. Cutest thing those two with that bike! She may be one of the reasons I wanted a little dog to ride in MY basket! Ha Ha
Any chance you have any photos of your Poodle. I LOVE seeing everyone's photos....and yet.....<laughs> I am so BAD about taking photos of our, well?, our anything. |
OMGoodness that was my first dog as an adult lol. The biking started in 1974 when my now ex-husband and I bought our 1st house. Any pictures I have of that baby is packed in a steamer trunk buried in a bulging shed lol. I am sure I never took a photo of her in the bike basket, it was just the two of us that biked, I would never let her be in the basket with the kick stand down, just not stable enough to leave her like that to take a picture. She was a over standard size toy poodle, weighed maybe 10 Lbs was Silver grey.In the early 80's I had another poodle, white, and started camping, I always took my bike, still no bike baskets for dogs, I replaced the 1974 bike with a 15 speed English racer but kept the basket, this pup loved the biking and all the attention she got. I have a photo of the white poodle in dire need of a hair cut, she is basking in the sun in her little lounge, she is much older in this photo, maybe 12 or 13 years old.
Yeah I was going I ask, when are you putting Katy's pic in your avatar????
