All of our three wanted constant holding when they were babies, and still sleep with us every night. Our only saving grace was that as they grew older, the little ones wanted to be playing with their "big brother(s)". They spend most of their days cuddling and playing together with us. We specifically wanted two (I know...we ended up with three!) so that they would have a buddy when we are away from home. I know that this solution is not practical for everyone, but it has worked for us over the years.
That is where I got in trouble lol. When I got Joey my 2nd one Callie was much older and just couldn’t play with him the same as a younger dog. Well my aunt came over with her Doxie and him and Joey played so much and when he left Joey was so depressed. Well Penny popped up on my fb as an 8 month old that had been a gift for a 12 year old and she was done with her and was going to be sent to the pound well after a few days she was mine and Joey was thrilled. They bonded so much. I liked 3 because if one had to go to the vet the other two had each other. Well Ollie was just my oops pup. I love them all though. Joey and Penny are only 6 months apart so that’s nice. They do help keep each other busy and even comforted when you can’t.
