Default 20 yr old now gone

I am saddened to advise our Yorkie Ewok had to sent on his way yesterday. He was 20 yrs 3 months old. He was sight impaired (had cataract surgery 3 yrs ago but cataract came back), mostly deaf, only a few teeth left, some arthritis, and senile. But, even so, happy and active. Was on Selegiline hydrochloride for 3 years (same medication people take for the senility. What a god send. Bought us an extra 2-3 years with him. Why a long life - he never drank tap water. I am very sensitive to chlorine and we lived rural on filtered tank water. When city dwelling then we had a system to filter the water. Did it make a difference? I don't know. Also, he ate what I ate for the most part. Some tinned food (My Dog brand) but mostly my chicken and occasionally steak, lamb chops, or pork chops. Also, no immunisations in the final 5 years. I didn't want those chemicals in him. I was also careful when mopping the floors to not let him get those chemicals on his paws that he might ingest or absorb. Yesterday morning he woke up and couldn't walk. Back legs couldn't support him. He was very distressed forcing our decision that it was time. Rest in peace little one.
