The four yorkies I had, 3 were floppy eared, 1 was standup, never an infection of any kind with those girls and none of them had allergies. Cody on the other hand has allergies and has gotten some serious ear infections and he has German Shepard size ears, I was blaming the groomer for getting water in his ears and not drying the ears, my vet said no, it's allergy related. Then he had 2 yeast infections, the last one was very bad, the inside of his left ear was flame red and swollen, all his ear infections is the left ear so I watch that one if he scratches it. We have a very high pollen count where I live so this does not help matters.
