But, say we had one born tomorrow...I don't feel it would be absolutely neccessary to put it in the ring to complete his being "quality." Right now, I honestly don't have the time...money is not an issue, but time is. Much like yourself, I have an outside job. (Plus a 5 year old.) Could I pay to have some help like you? Yes, but that is not my desire. We have both done what we feel is best. Might showing be an option in the future for me? Yes, but right now, I am very comfortable where we are and the direction we are moving.

I don't know, I guess it is just the way you look at it. I have 6 people waiting for pups. I am comfortable with them having them...they'll be in good homes. I am not going to be disappointed if they go to loving homes rather than a ring. I do not feel the need to "prove" anything or "impress" others. I don't know. I enjoy shows, but I just have no desire to pursue that right now. Although Agility on the other hand...that's another story...

Misty, I also wanted to elaborate on this post of yours...
I think you are on the right path and are doing absolutely nothing wrong. I for one can honestly say that if it weren't for my years under my belt of "only breeding" that when I jump into the show world very soon that it will only make me better at what I hope to accomplish. I spent so much time REALLY learning my breed over the years, learning all the apsects of getting healthy babies into this world, seeing what produced what, traits, temperaments, you name it. The hands on of being a breeder first gave me a huge heads up I truly believe. No one will convince me otherwise because I've done it. If I had just went out and bought my first show prospect and went for it, I would still have so much to learn that I already know. So there is nothing wrong with being a responsible, ethical breeder and not showing. It isn't for everyone. And to each their own.
