Congratulations on your new little one! I am sure that the vet will be able to determine what is "normal", but at 9 weeks, he is very young. Each of mine slept a lot when they first came home with us.

Not to be critical, but until he has his shots, he should not be out in public where other dogs are present. I must admit that I wanted to socialize one of my boys before I realized the danger in letting him walk on the ground where others had been...I took him to an art fair. We were lucky, and he was fine, but since then my new babies have not been allowed "out in public" until their puppy shot regimes were complete.
