Several years ago my now passed senior girl had 2 nails that grew very long and leaned to the side,I took her every week to the groomer to cut just the tips, it took a while but her nails became normal length again.
I stopped cutting yorkie nails, I use to trim my girls every 3 weeks, just a tiny bit off the tips until one time I got the quick, I never saw so much blood, while holding my pup with a cloth on her paw I frantically found the cornstarch to stop the bleeding. That was it for cutting yorkie nails, it's hard to see where the quick ends.
