How many days has he had runny stools?
What is he currently eating?

While a vet WILL often give a dewormer just in case (they are relatively safe), I'm not sure it sounds like that is the best course of action. I think if it's been more than a few days, a vet visit should be in order... but understand if finances are tight and he is otherwise OK, I would at least do a very bland diet for a few days to see if it helps. If it doesn't, something else may be up. With Yorkies, pancreatitis is always a concern and they can go downhill quickly (but if he's not in pain, then it may not be the case). I believe places like Tractor Supply sell dewormers but I am not sure.

Also, have you looked into Care Credit? I've used the crap out of it lately with our vet bills lol. It lets you pay it off with no interest within 6 months. I use it for my own stuff too.
