Default Newbie intro & loooking for advce

Hello from MN,

Last May I adopted a 5 yr old Yorkie/ Brussels mix from Midwest Animal Rescue near the Twin Cities. He was initially a rescue as a pup from Missouri, probably from a puppy mill situation, & has been adopted & returned 3 times in MN. I'm his 4th & forever owner. He's a sweet little guy with a lot of baggage- no socialization as a pup, abused & very fearful, which he displays as fear aggression toward strangers, other dogs & at being touched.

He's come a long way since May- he no longer cowers at loud noises or the sight of a mop or broom & now holds his head high when he approaches me. He's OK being bathed & likes T-touch massages- tummy is still a no-no zone- & he finally likes to be carried. He used to scream at any touch.

Since I need to groom him at home, I would like recommendations for the best scissors to trim his hair. I've been slowly trimming a bit with shears I used on my last Bichon (I had Bichons for 30 years-lost my babe at 17 a year ago) but I need something appropriate for his coat.

So happy to find this group - thanks for letting me be here!
