Mine started having separation anxiety suddenly when he was around 5 month old. My mistake was not crating him when he was younger. Anyways, because I work from home, for almost a month if I go out now he comes everywhere with me or stays with a friend of mine who lives next door. Gladly he behaves well anywhere we go, so there's no problem.. It's just once I get dressed to go out he goes and sits in front on the door looking at me with his big puppy eyes and whining.. and there is NOTHING that can distract him from guarding that door.
A few days ago I bought an ebook by Patricia McConnell "I'll be home soon ....", maybe you can have a look at it! She suggests a long but seemingly effective method. I'm going to start it and will see if it will help.
