Our Sophie had a collapsing trachea and we were hesitant to have it done because we couldn’t bear to think of losing her in three years. A year later, last New Years Eve, she died suddenly from cardiac arrest, brought on by ARDS, a result of an undiagnosed enlarged heart and pulmonary edema, caused by her trachea. In retrospect, we would have given anything for two more years.

Collapsing trachea doesn’t generally cause those issues. Sorry for your loss.
