Around 2006 or so, yorkies hit the top ten AKC list that comes out every year. I hate that list btw. Anyway, I remember a few of us having a discussion about how awful it was for it to happen and sure enough....bang everyone was into yorkies. Since that time I have seen more and more and more horrible breeding issues....I once had to euthanize a precious puppy who had a congenital condition so bad that it could not be fixed. She was seen by 3 specialists who also consulted with vets around the country who specialized... the list of congenital issues I have had to deal with are MANY.
I have learned a lot .. but, honestly would have been happy and content to not have the knowledge I have from caring for these precious babies.
A 4 lb yorkie is honestly not considered super tiny. I am sure you can find a yorkie that size from a reputable breeder.
As suggested by yorkiemini , read the breed standard that is on the website I am sharing below....they also have breeders listed, but STILL be careful and ask a lot of questions.

Just do your homework.....ask lots of questions. But, PLEASE, while looking, run from anyone who says they breed for tinies or teacups.
