Piper chooses to stay in bed while I get up, get dressed, etc. Throughout I pretend I don't see her, then when I start making the bed, she bounds over, then bulldozes the comforter at which time I say with much surprise, "Hey?! Is that my little Piper? Is that my little good good good Piper girl?" Then I grab her and rub her tummy vigorously, scratch the whole length of her back, rub her little face with her blanket and finally set her on the floor so she can race out into family room at about 90mph!!! Piper starts my day with a laugh, makes me happy all day long, and I say goodnight with a smile. Piper has brightened my entire life in countless, unique ways. And I thank God in Heaven above for giving me this true blessing... |
