 Help/Guidance Needed
Hello, I relatively new to this forum and have never posted. This is a little long...
I'm reaching out in hopes someone might have some insight on what's happening with my 1yr old baby girl. Chloe has episodes of head shaking and lethargy. They don't happen all the time and we can't figure out what brings them on. We thought it was low blood sugar but her blood levels have all tested within normal range. A couple of weeks ago she actually had a seizure. We couldn’t wake her and she threw up overnight. She was unable to stand up and also for the first time she was twitching and jerking as if one was having a seizure. Her doctor recommended a specialist, who ruled out Liver Shunt but suspects a problem in the nervous system, possibly a malformation of the brain. They want to start her on anti-seizure medication 3/day. We gave her 1-dose but it made her so lethargic; I just can't continue without knowing for sure this is what she needs.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of this happening? Can anyone recommend a vet who specializes in this breed?
My husband and I are just beside ourselves... any advice is appreciated. |
