Never been under the actual 15 or 20 lb. weight some of the weighted blankets have but sleeping under the weight of those heavy quilts of Chachi's(that's what we all called Jimmy's maternal grandmother), with that even body pressure all over was so relaxing. Just sleeping under my jury-rigged attempt at making my own weight to sleep under - my double sized, doubled-over old, heavy quilt, two burned-out, formerly heated throws with the wiring and heaviness of the AC package down at the bottom still in them, together with my cover sheet and duvet for the overall effect of as much weight as I can manage, is pretty fine! But I have to turn down the A-C to keep from burning up under all those layers of blankets! It's worth it though.

But at the end of the week, laundry time is serious work getting all those things off the bed, down the hall and into the washer, then wet and even heavier, hauled one by one out of the washer and into the dryer.

Hopefully, with just the one heavy blanket and fabric freshener, I can go a month before having the weighted Blanquil dry cleaned, if I'm lucky. I don't know. Will just have to see how is fares with use. It comes with a removable, washable duvet-like tie-on cover that goes next to the skin, and is said to be soft and washable. The Blanquil has already shipped so hopefully I'll be snuggling under it soon, just about the time we get a cool front.
