Anyone Sleep Under A Weighted Blanket? I had never heard of the concept of napping or sleeping under a weighted blanket or just using one for relaxation in a chair or recliner but the moment I saw one advertised on TV, I wanted it. I've always loved sleeping under heavy, heavy old quilts - the pressure of those extra-heavy covers is somehow just more restful and even kind of pain relieving for hurting or tired legs. Love my old quilts(bought in an antique shop years ago) but they are pretty shabby and now it sounds like there is something that might be even better as far as the functionality. Course the old quilts will always be favorites for their provenance and charming character. But supposedly the gravity or weighted blanket is like sleeping under a body hug or something equivalent, said to promote extra relaxation and deeper sleep for those that accept the concept.
The very idea that there was something out there that could exert even pressure all over the body from the chin down past the toes(it's 70" long), way heavier than any combination of quilts and blankets that I have, kind of like a human version of a Thundershirt, and is new, pretty and even color-coordinated to my color schemes, sounded so good I bought it, sight unseen and without knowing a single soul who's ever used one. I bought a 15 lb. model, according to the weight chart suggestion.
Am waiting for delivery and just wondered if anyone here has ever tried or owns one.
