No matter how prepared we think we are, we never are.
It is the hardest thing that I have ever had to do every time I have had to help one of my beloved pets end their suffering; but I could never make that decision, then abandon them during their final moments. Unfortunately, I have had to be there for several pets during my lifetime...you can never be "ready" to have them leave, but it is the last loving thing you can do if there is no quality of life left for that little one who gave a lifetime of love and loyalty. Hold them, stroke them and speak lovingly to them as they pass to a peaceful place...they deserve no less.
