I am so very sorry for your loss! Unfortunately I experienced a similar situation a few years ago when we lost our little boy, Tucker, during his neuter, and I understand the thoughts and emotions that are bombarding you at this time. He was a happy, healthy eight month old. Our vet did a thorough checkup the day before, and ran a complete blood panel. His heart stopped as they were attempting to bring him out of the anesthesia, and they were not successful in reviving him. I will never forget receiving the call from the vet, and being in total shock. In our confusion and numbness, we did not have a necropsy...and I still wonder exactly what happened to our baby. I hope that you will receive answers which help you heal.
We decided to open our hearts to our new babies, Ty and Gus, and their love has helped us manage to remember the sweet times with our beloved Tucker. With the support and understanding of our compassionate vet, we even managed to overcome the fear surrounding having our new little ones neutered.
My thoughts are with you through this heartbreaking time. Please know that you took all of the proper precautions, and were doing what was best for your Maezie. May you find peace of mind and, if you feel that it is right for you, open your heart to the possibility of loving a new, unique little one again. |
