A reputable breeder requires a prospective owner to sign a contract and generally that contract requires a "well puppy" vet visit within a few days. BUT a reputable breeder would have already done a "well puppy" vet visit prior to the pup leaving their home. However, sometimes things happen pups get sick. A good breeder has enough knowledge and is always willing to help a new owner owner get through problems that may arise with new pups. Not necessarily financially, but by sharing knowledge and emotional support.
