She said his sutures are ok and the weeping is ok - the problem is he is in pain. Which is what I've been saying all along. She also said she saw the notes from yesterday where I called the surgery clinic, said he was in pain and asked for Tramadol, but they told me to keep him on the Rimadyl. Which she said is BS because it's a very painful surgery. Have I mentioned I really like this vet?
She's giving me pain medication (both tramadol and gabapentin), antibiotics, and she wants me to do warm compresses on his face to help the blood circulation. I wanted both antibiotics and tramadol from the surgeon, and I really should have pushed harder, but that's a learning experience for me. I'll be picking him up in an hour. |
Bless you for your care and persistence. Shame, shame on the surgeon and that office. You shouldn't have had to "push harder." They are the experts who performed a surgery for which the recovery involves a period of pain.
Again, shame on them and hugs to you.
Thank you again for lovin' this little guy. So glad to hear he'll be back in your arms soon. --KatysMom
