I think vets know certain brands and they really stick to it (likely because those brands have been around for a very long time and they know dogs have done well on them).
There are so many new dog foods out there now, so because they're newer, there's not much historic data, possibly why vets don't seem to like the newer products.
If your furbabies are doing well on Fresh Pet (which seems to look very yummy btw, I'm sure my two would LOVE it), and their poop looks good (which is super important), I'd personally just stick with it. Unless your vet gives you a very good reason not to...
