My only concern is that your breeder has experience putting microchips in dogs. If they have a lot of experience, that's fine. Otherwise, you could have it done at the vet. There are a few quirky things about chip placement, and procedures they can do that will help prevent the chip from migrating. I could find all of the technical specifications for the HomeAgain chips--they have a special coating that helps prevent chip migration. I couldn't find any information about the AKC chips.
