WOW! Now I'm scared for my puppy! We have nesting bald eagles about a mile away, so our neighborhood is in their hunting area. We also have hawks. I keep him on a leash outside and never leave him alone, but it sounds like that isn't always successful! Poor puppy...he so loves running around in the back yard! My daughter has a high fence around her chicken run with a chicken wire "ceiling" to protect her chickens from predators. I think I'm going to try and figure out how to do that over the part of my yard where puppy likes to play.
They say metallic things scare birds off. Does it scare off big ones? I thought maybe I could put a few posts around the yard and attach metallic streamers, used cd's and that sort of thing. Would probably be really ugly, think it would keep puppy safe? |
