We got our Bella at 8 weeks of age (which in hindsight was too young), and she had a couple of episodes of hypoglycemia during her first couple of weeks at home. After calling the vet, we rubbed Karo syrup on her gums and she recovered quickly. She never had to be taken in to the vet. She grew out of the hypoglycemia quickly. We also bought some Nutrical, but she hated the flavor so we never used it--just the Karo syrup, and only a couple of times. It's best to be prepared and know the symptoms, because we had to learn on our own, and fortunately it happened during the day when the vet was in her office.
