Hi everyone,
I have a question. Tiki has been doing so well on his potty pads but just as many of you have experienced, it seems like all of a sudden he just goes where ever he wants sometimes. Now, of course its probably part my fault because we get so used to him being so self sufficient we get lazy in watching them like we used to when first training. So my question is... I feel like Tiki really does know where to go on his pads, so when he does go anywhere else he feels he can, I need to punish him more than just bringing him over to his pee pad because he's getting older and I swear he knows where to go. So lately I have been bringing him over to the pad along with whatever he peed on, or the pee wiped up on a paper towel to show him where it should go, and then leaving him (he has the entire kitchen and bathroom where his pee pads are and is then gated from the rest of the house but it is still a rather large area) and leaving him there until he pees again on his pad and then of course I praise him like crazy when I see he has gone on his pad and give him a treat and everything is great again. So do you think myleaving him until he pees again is accomplishing anything? Or should I just stick with the showing him where he should go and forgetting about it after that?
Thanks for your help!
