Basically, they are medicines that are produced by living organisms rather than chemically synthesized in the laboratory.
In the case of Cytopoint, it's a monoclonal antibody that attacks the chemicals in the dogs that cause itching. It's an injection that lasts several weeks to two months. Here's an article on Apoquel and Cytopoint:
