I checked the kurgo heather and skybox. To bad the heather didn't have a video like the skybox did.
I am giving my opinion based on my tagalong that I have 4 years now.
If I were to buy a Kurgo, and had to choose between the heather or skybox I would choose the heather, reason, the skybox looks like a sloppy fit, could be just the picture they used, but a picture is just that, a picture, it could be better fit in person. The skybox strap that goes over the headrest appears to be attached to the seat to far forward causing it to lean and sag forward. The booster seat should be flush against the back of the car seat. I don't like the idea of attaching the tether to the cars seatbelt.
The heather appears to be a snugger fit, the strap that goes over the headrest is attached to the seat a bit more towards the back making it more flush with the back of the car seat and the picture shows no sagging. Thing is, it doesn't say or show where the tether is.
These elevated booster seats are very adjustable as for how high or how low you want the seat to be which is what I like. The tighter you make the strap that goes around the back of your car seat the sturdier the seat will be, less sag. I have mine very tight.
If I could go into a store and buy these I would buy one of each to see which one was the best fit for my vehicle, and return the one I didn't like.
When you spoke to cust service regarding the heather seat, did you ask where the tether was, is it attached to the booster seat or do you have to attach it to the cars seatbelt. If you didn't I suggest calling and asking. The skybox video shows the tether attaches to car seatbelt. Also ask do they collapse for storage.
Although your baby is 5 pounds I would go one size larger to give room to lay down.
Good luck in what ever you choose, let us know how it works for you.
