Myriamha, I am so happy to read your note! By the way you write, I just know that you are intelligent and thoughtful, and perfectly capable of potty training your pup in a positive and patient manner.
I hope you understand that there are a few thousand people who frequent this board, and when you have such a big mix of humans, you are bound to have a huge mix of opinions. Most people on here would never consider hitting a pup. Some of those folks had a little difficulty keeping their reactive anger in check, and unfortunately, your post got them stirred to the boiling point. The way they felt was probably pretty close to how you felt that day you smacked your pup. They smacked you in with the written word.
The power of positive training has been successfully proven over and over. I know that you are now on the right track, and will be able to accomplish your goal while keeping your pup AND you happy and healthy.
