I have not used mine on a plane but due to their safety, I would not let them travel in anything else in our car. I have however traveled first class in a quality airline carrier. Reservations were for an aisle seat and the carrier Would Not Fit! It would fit under the window seat but that passenger would not change seats. I was very thankful for a helpful flight attendant who found a gentleman happy to move to an aisle seat & we took his window seat. I had not flown but 2 or 3 times & it was the first for my Yorkie. I guess the size under the seat can vary not only from airline to airline but in one plane. I hope you got the Sleepypod, they are wonderful and the company has excellent customer service.
