So Callie is bigger at 17 pounds so I never had the issue of people picking her up. With Joey who is 10 pounds he is often in my arms or right against me so no one really picks him up. Well Penny is 12 pounds and extremely happy to see people and almost jumps in their arms but the only one who has tried to pick her up was a kid at a dog event. Two people picked her up yesterday at the vet one was a receptionist and the other a tech we know pretty well and neither supported her butt they were like holding her around her chest and I was terrified they were going to drop her because she is a big kisser and wiggle worm when excited. How the heck do you work at a vets office and not know how to pick up a dog

. My mom was with me and we had all three, well I hooked Callie and Penny’s leashes to the hook they have by the counter and was holding Joey because he just got a shot and wanted to be held while I was paying and signing and make the booster shot appointment and the tech who picked Penny up came over and unhooked the girls and took them for a potty break. I don’t know whether to be thankful or concerned she didn’t ask. I worked with this one tech when I did my shadowing and she knows us from being at the vet all the time but still. This was the first time at my vets office I was like wth. Maybe I’m weird I just like them in my sight and not being picked up. I fear them being dropped. I finally get the whole concern over people picking them up thing.
