We had the same experience with Fabian's neutering at 7 lbs and 10 months. He's a chewer, so we had to keep him in an e-collar. We also modified baby onesies to keep him from licking himself after the collar came off. The biggest "problem" was my husband, who took the whole castration thing a little too personally. (That's partially why we waited so long.) We also waited because he was very high in the rear and didn't want to do anything that might effect his growth pattern and "levelling off".
