My senior , Spenser, had bladder stone surgery two weeks after we adopted him last December. His stones were calcium oxilate He has been on Royal Canine prescription food. He did very well after the surgery. Our vet wanted a follow up X-ray every 6 months. Last week at 12 months post surgery, the X-ray showed one small stone. The vet put him on an antibiotic, did a urine culture test in case a urinary infection had contributed to the development of the stone. He goes in Friday for a repeat X-ray. We will also get the results of the culture and blood work.

One thing that has worked out well is using a slow feeder bowl. Spenser does not like water. However, we float his RC food in it and he loves it. That assures he will get enough water.

We are hoping the stone will pass..........here’s hoping.
