I've been searching the forums for answers but I can't seem to find anyone in my situation, so I'll do my best to explain.
My yorkir is about a year and a half old. We live in Florida so last Saturday when the hurricane was approaching, she started acting strange and clingy and started getting diahhreah. It was like pure liquid. (gross!) We figured it was anxiety from the storm, but if continued post storm.
We took her to the vet 2 days ago, and they ran tests, took her temperature, and gave her an IV and such. All was fine from what they found. So they gave us some I/D digestive food and FlortiFlora to sprinkle on top of it for at least a week.
It seems like little progress was made since. She still has diahhreah, but it seems to have at least a little form to it. (It's very sticky and almost mucus-y).
What is the normal recovery time for a bout with diahhreah like this? She has to wake up at least 2 or 3 times a night to go poop and a few times a day. It's really making sleeping difficult
We feed her twice a day like the vet suggested, and give her water when she eats, but not too frequently to try to encourage her stool to not be as loose. And also, she still acts normal. She's all ready to play or go for a walk and her behavior has been fine. Just has the diahhreah.
Any help or advice!?
Thank you!
