Make yourself interesting (carry a squeaky toy and squeeze it occasionally, but keep moving)--let her start to focus on you; pretend like you're not totally focused on her. As others have stated, she is a stranger in a strange land and she doesn't yet understand our language or wishes or where she fits. Your love and unending patience, along with compassion and humor will work magic over time, time and more time. Congratulations on your new baby girl; she's lucky to have you! |
