A few weeks ago I felt a strange lump (black lump on toe joint) on my dogs foot and thought something had bitten her. Waited a few days as it was over 4th July weekend, when I took her in, vet (not my usual vet, but same office) said he thought it was a tumor. He said to recheck in 2 weeks, did not want to aspirate because he thought it was blood filled and afraid it wouldn't stop bleeding. So I take her back, on way there feel another lump near her armpit. Vet thinks she has a toe tumor, wants to do surgery, will also aspirate the 2nd lump I found, but just thinks fatty tumor. May have to amputate toe and will send cells to pathology.
Anybody have experience with this? It's going to cost me about $1400

Not that money is the most important thing, but if I do the surgery and then if she had cancer, I would never do chemo. Too costly and I think quality of life would suck.
I would appreciate anyone's experiences here. This is very painful for me and really hurting my heart. Every dog I've owned has had some pretty serious health issues as well as myself. Overwhelmed with s**t life keeps throwing at me.
