All my now passed 4 yorkies were big girls, one at 9 Lbs, 2 at 13 my last girl was 17 Lbs, my adopted boy is 12 Lbs. breeders do NOT breed for larger yorkies. A reputable breeder breeds to standard size, 5 to 7 pounds, that is not to say a litter will not have a tiny or a larger to standard size pup. Today the craze is for tiny pups 3 pounds and smaller, that is why you see many unreputable breeders advertising for "tiny" dogs. There is no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie, that is just a name bad breeders use to charge big bucks for a small dog. Yorkies are in the toy breed, weights should be 5 to 7 pounds, there is one size only in yorkies and that is "standard" size.

Sorry to say, you will not see any breeder advertising large yorkies. Look for breeders that breed for "standard" pups which is what you are looking for. When you do find a breeder that breeds for standard check the breeder out thoroughly.

I adore the tiny babies, but prefer the larger ones I have had, they better suit my life style. It will take time to find that perfect pup, don't give up. Good luck.
