She's basically recommending an all of the above approach by reducing challenges to her immune system, treating without meds (as much as possible), using higher quality foods, and improving skin quality. | Unless she has food allergies which are rare changing the food isn't going to do anything. You have to be careful with that high quality food things because there a lots of food that are rated to be high quality and are not. Also some foods don't work for some dogs. Personally if she is eating her food I wouldn't switch it because I do not believe it's a food allergy. Food allergy would be cause different issues. My older girl has IBD which is caused by food allergys so I know food allergies pretty decently. Also if it was a food allergy you would have to go to a prescription food that does come in contact with other foods. Like all of one brands food is made in the same plant so it comes in contact with all the ingredients that are used in all the different foods so if it was a food allergy no matter which food you used it would have trace amounts of the other types in it which would still cause an allergic reaction. Prescription food is made differently to not come in contact with the other foods. I have heard of a lot of yorkies having issues with origin and it being to much protein. In my opinion ACan is a better option. You have to becareful though that what your adding to her food dosen't make up more then 10% of her diet. Also I think if this is a different issue then what you were having then you should consult with a specialist.
