Has seborrhea been ruled out?
Are there any signs of hypothyroidism? Anytime there are unresolved skin/hair issues -- you MUST look deeper, bc these are just symptoms of something else.
And most importantly...is she not getting enough relief from the Atopica? If not, the dose can be increased and given 2x a day, rather than just once a day. You should also talk to your vet about the new shot for allergies, Cytopoint. |
No mention ever of seborrhea. Only allergies to all grasses where we live. No allergies to foods. Her prescription is 5.4mg of apoquel. Half a tablet every 24 hrs. The vet did tell me at one time that when her scratching was in overdrive that I could give her a full tablet. She also has a dandruff due to the dry skin. Yesterday, I mad her an appointment with the vet so we can hopefully get this resolved. I will ask about the shot.
